Founded 21 years ago by the pioneers of the taxi industry as SANTACO Brokers, Bathathu Risk was established to drive meaningful change within the sector.
Over the years, we have evolved from a small player to a respected administrator, excelling in underwriting and claims management. Our contributions have significantly enhanced the well-being of our members and supported the economic transformation of the country.

We are excited to announce the appointment of Ms. Ayanda Williams as our new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Mr. Andries Zietsman as Chief Operations Officer, effective January 1, 2024.

Recognizing that the taxi insurance business is volume-driven, we aim to move away from conventional underwriting practices.
This shift will enable the taxi industry to benefit from bulk discounts and access to underwriting profits that were previously unattainable.

In a touching collaboration, Bathathu Group Funeral Scheme and Icebolethu Group came together to honour the life and legacy of Mr. Oupa “Dallas” John Sithole, Secretary in the office of the Executive President.
The funeral service was a fitting tribute to a man who dedicated his life to serving others.
